Rincon (pronounced as ring-KON) is a Puerto Rican municipality that was founded by Luis de Añasco in 1771. The municipality is situated west of Añasco and Aguada, right in the Western Coastal Valley. One of its main attractions is the fact that Rincon is home to a number of the best surfing beaches Puerto Rico has. These beaches include Marias, Domes, Sandy Beach, Tres Palmas, Rincon Town Beach Plaza, and Pools Beach.
Rincon has its own flag which was designed and created by Mr. Evaristo Cardona Moreno, plus the art contribute by Jose Luis Cardona Martinez, Moreno's older son. The flag consists of a central white star which represents the urban zone, and is surrounded by nine stars representing the nine wards of the municipality. In addition, the orange and red colors found in the flag symbolize vitality and vigor of the municipality, with yellow representing Christianity, and green representing lush vegetation plus the hopes of continued progress for the municipality. The white color the stars possess represents the unity and purity between the urban zone and the wards.
