About Romulus
Romulus is a city located in Wayne County, in the state of Michigan, United States of America. The population of 24,269 is predominantly white, with a significant number of African-Americans in the community. Famous for being the setting of the Stevens song "Romulus," the city's residential area is also an industrial suburb, as the Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is located here.

Incorporated as a city in 1970, Romulus has several historical places to visit. One of these is the Samuel Kingsley Home, the most popular landmark in the city. Kingsley was a white man who was against slavery, and he helped African and African-American slaves by hiding them in the cellar of his home in Ozga Road.

The White Church also served as some sort of sanctuary for the slaves, as it served as an Underground Railroad stop. Located at Pullen's Corner or what is now known as Five Points, the church still serves the community, and has been renamed the Romulus Wesleyan Church. Other historical places will surely make any visitor to Romulus feel the spirit of the past.
