Saint Petersburg is a city in Russia and is also called Leningrad and Petrograd. Often, the city is merely known as Petersburg and, more informally, as Piter. The city is often described as Russia's most western city and is the northernmost city in the world.

The city, as of the time of writing, contains no skyscrapers and has a relatively low skyline. Construction of high buildings in the city's center is currently forbidden. The historic architecture of the city that is consisting mostly of neoclassical and Baroque structure of the 18th and 19th centuries is largely preserved.

The city is also a home to a large number of museums, which can reach to more than two hundred museums. These museums are usually hosted in the preserved historic buildings. These museums include the Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum and the apartments of some famous and notable Russians that hailed from Saint Petersburg.

Saint Petersburg has also its fair share of gardens and parks. The Pavlosk is found in the city and is one of the largest gardens of Europe. It is also the home of Sosnovka, the Summer Garden and other notable parks in Europe.
