Santa Clara is a county in California, USA. It is located on the San Francisco Bay area and is the site of the renowned Silicon Valley. It has a total area of 1,304 sq mi and has a population of around 2,000,000. Formed in 1850 and named after the Mission Santa Clara (which was named after Saint Clare of Assisi), the county is one of the very first counties in the state.

Part of the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge belong to Santa Clara. Expressways and freeways make the county very accessible from other parts of the state and country.

Santa Clara's attractions include the Grant Ranch Park, Sanborn Park, Almaden Quicksilver County Park, Triton Museum of Art, Intel Museum, California's Great America theme park, Harris-Lass Historic Preserve, Central Park, Shrine of Our Lady of Peace, and the Mission Santa Clara de Asis located in the Santa Clara University campus.
