Scottsdale is a city in Arizona, United States. It is adjacent to Phoenix in the east side and is part of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Scottsdale contains several high quality resorts, art galleries and golf courses. The city is also considered to be one of the wealthy parts of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

One of the primary attractions of Scottsdale is its variety of high end shopping districts. The Fashion Square Mall that is located in the downtown area of the city is one of the biggest shopping centers in the country. Upscale shopping and strolling are also offered in the extensive galleries in the downtown area.

Scottsdale is well known for its cultural and art amenities. The local art community of the city still remains diverse even if the art scene is known to be affluent and high-end in general. The highest concentration of studios, galleries and museums that are for public viewing are located in Downtown Scottsdale.

There are also several annual fairs and cultural events in Scottsdale. One of the most prestigious is the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show that is held yearly since 1955. There is also the Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol which might be the most popular modern cowboy event.
