
Seville is the cultural, financial and artistic capital of south Spain. It is also the capital city of Andalusia and the center of the province of Seville. The residents of Seville are referred to as Sevillanos and Sevillanas or Hispalenses. The city is the fourth largest metropolitan area of Spain.
There are a variety of festivals held regularly in Seville. Some of these festivals include the Seville Fair and the Semana Santa which are the most popular festival in the area. Seville is known for its beautiful processions that are held during Holy week and the lively and colorful fair that is held two weeks after. During the Fair, people spend the week drinking, dancing and socializing.
Seville offers a wide variety of cuisine that is mostly based on the products of its neighboring provinces including olive oil, sherry and seafood. The tapas is also one of the cultural attractions of the city where people hop from one bar to another while enjoying small dishes that are referred to as tapas.
Seville is the hometown of two soccer teams - the Sevilla Futbol Club and the Real Betis Balompie.
