Shreveport is the largest city in the northern part of Louisiana, USA and is the third largest city in the whole state. The city contains many rivers and lakes and offers a variety of recreational activities. It is located in the area that is designated by the state as the Sportman's Paradise.

Shreveport is considered as the cultural and commercial center of the area where Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas meet. Shreveport is a home of several mansions that are located along Fairfield Avenue. These mansions give you a glimpse into the city's rich history.

The city also features many casinos such as El Dorado, Sam's Town, Diamond Jacks, Boomtown and Horseshow which offer gambling in docked riverboats. An annual air show is featured during May for Holiday in Dixie in Barksdale Air Force Base. It features an outstanding show with aircraft from the Air Forces as well as other branches in the US military.

Shreveport is the home of a world class art gallery, the Norton Art Gallery in Creswell Avenue and the American Rose Center which is the largest garden park in the country that are dedicated solely to roses.
