South Lake Tahoe also named as the "Jewel of the Sierras" is situated in the southern part of the largest alpine lake, Lake Tahoe. It is a city in El Dorado County in California. South Lake Tahoe, according to the United States Census Bureau, has a land area of 16.5 square miles in which 10.1 square miles is land and 6.4 square miles is water.
South Lake Tahoe is an ideal place for business, pleasure and for settling down. Its location is favorable especially to the employment of its community, especially the "Y" area, an intersection of US Highway 50, State Highway 59, and Lake Tahoe Boulevard. It is full of hotels, shops, restaurants, and ski resorts which are good for the city's economy.
