About Spokane Valley WA
Spokane Valley is known as an incorporated city in Washington's Spokane County. The city is located west of Liberty Lake and on the west part of Spokane. It engulfs Millwood by covering three of its sides. Spokane Valley easily reaches the top seven largest cities of the state and has a population of 88,280 as of 2007.

Thousands of years ago, Spokane Valley was inhabited by Native American Indians. Fur traders who travelled through the area called the Indians as "Spokanes" which means "Children of the Sun." These Indians were a peaceful group and have maintained friendly terms with other tribes as well as the fur traders who they came in contact with.

Since Spokane Valley shares its name with an unincorporated area from which it was carved from, the name "Spokane Valley" is often used only as a reference to an area much greater than the confines of city limits.
