St Pete Beach is a city in Florida, USA. It is a coastal city famous for being a tourist destination. It was formally named as St. Petersburg Beach but with majority of the residents and tourists calling it as St. Pete Beach, the name was officially changed. The name change also helped to distinguish the city from the nearby City of St. Petersburg. St Pete Beach encompasses the barrier island of Long Key. It is connected to South Pasadena, Treasure Island, and Bayway Isles (part of St. Petersburg).
Majority of the permanent residents of St Pete Beach are white but other races and ethnic groups are also well represented. In fact, the city has the largest Lithuanian-American population in Florida. Because of its climate and the beaches, the city is a popular winter destination.
Beach resorts and pristine waters are the main attractions in the city of St Pete Beach. In fact, a huge portion of the city is water - comprising 45.7 km2 of the total city area of 51.5 km2.
