About Stansted
Stansted Mountfitchet is situated 30 miles north of London. It is a village and civil parish in the county of Essex, England. It has a population of 5,532 according to the 2001 census. The word Stansted means a "stony place" in Saxon, since it was a Saxon settlement, then the suffix Mountfitchet is from the Norman baron who settled in the area.

Stansted is best known for its airport, the London Stansted Airport, it is a hub for a plenty of major European low-cost carriers. It is the 3rd busiest airport in the United Kingdom and is the third largest airport serving the capital, London.

There are several major attractions in UK that can be found in this village, such as The Hill Toy Museum, which is considered largest toy museum in Europe. It opened in 1991 and has over 80,000 toys, mostly from the 1950s to the 1980s. Another is the historic Windmill that was built in 1787, which was donated to the people of Stansted in 1935. Also, the well-known Mountfitchet Castle, the Mole Hall Wildlife Park, and the Hatfield forest are found in Stansted.
