Stateline is a CDP (census-designated place) in Nevada and is located right by the east shores of Lake Tahoe. Permanent residents are less than 2,000 people but during tourist peak season, this number swells to a high level as the rental homes and hotels are booked for the entire season. Stateline is known for Kingbury Grade which is a state route that takes travelers through a mountain pass and dropping to Gardnerville right on the other side of the mountain.
Stateline has 4 resorts which are also casinos plus 2 other casinos. Local and small time gamblers usually visit The Lakeside Inn and Bill's while tourists often choose Montbleu, Horizon, Harvey's Lake Tahoe, and Harrah's Lake Tahoe.
Many activities that tourists can do in Stateline include hiking, sightseeing, golf, and gambling. Stateline was used in the movie Smokin' Aces where the film was shot both at the Horizon and Montbleu.
