Strasbourg is one of the main cities around the Alsace region of France. The city is the center of several European institutions such as the Eurocops, the European Parliament, the European Ombudsman of the European Union, and the Council of Europe. Plus, Strasbourg plays an important part by being the center of manufacturing and engineering, as well as river, road, and rain communications. In addition, the city's port is known as the second largest port located on the Rhine River, right after Duisburg in Germany.
The center of Strasbourg known as the Grande Ile or "Grand Island" has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The first time the honor was placed on the city center was back in 1988. The city has a unique flavor of Franco-German culture, and although much debate as erupted regarding this, it has also served as a bridge of unity between the two companies for over the past centuries.
