Sunrise is a city located in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is originally Named "Sunrise Golf Village" but was changed to Sunrise when the name did not click on retirees that developers wanted to attract.

Sunrise provides its locals and visitors with first rate facilities and services. It also offers a wide range of recreation from its soccer club, golf course, tennis club, play grounds and swimming pools which are offered by the likes of Springtee Golf Club, Sunrise tennis Club with its eleven hydrocourt clay courts, four asphalt-based cushioned courts and clubhouse with players' lunge, shop and locker rooms, Sunrise Country Club, the Sawgrass Sanctuary which is a 20-acre park and learning center that have hiking and bicycling trail, fishing pier and boardwalk, and the Civic Center complex which have a 300-seat theater, an art gallery and banquet facilities.

Sunrise is the home to Sawgrass Mills Mall, the fourth largest shopping mall in the United States.
