Trinidad is one of the two major islands that make up the country of Trinidad and Tobago. It is the more populous and larger of the two islands and is the southernmost island in the Caribbean.
There are several points of interest in Trinidad which includes Mount Saint Benedict, a Catholic monastery that is located in the Northern Range. This monastery is open to visitors and there is a lovely guest house where tea is served on Sunday afternoons. Trinidad is also the home of the bird watching center of the world - the Asa Wright Nature Center. Trinidad also has the Toco, Matelot and Grand Riviere with its great scenery and beaches, several nature trails, the Pitch Lake, some Divali and Carnival celebrations, the Caronic Bird Sanctuary and the Tobago beaches and Bucco reef.
The Trinidad cuisine is also a must try with its exotic taste that is influenced primarily by African and Indian and is often referred to as the Creole cuisine. Trinidad's roti are also a must try with its versions of Paratha and Dhalpuri.
