About Tulsa
Tulsa is a city in the state of Oklahoma with an estimated population of around 384,037 (2007). It is the second-largest city in the state and the 45th largest in the entire United States. It belongs to the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area and also serves as its principal municipality.

Tulsa, the city serves as the seat of Tulsa County, which extends into Osage, Rogers, and Wagner. The city has been nicknamed the 'Oil Capital of the World'. It is also sometimes referred to as 'T-Town'. The town was first settles by the Creek Native American tribe in the 1830s and in 1921 it was the site of the Tulsa Race Riot. The city is credited as being the birthplace of famed US Route 66.

It is one of the most important hubs of the US oil industry. The city's economy has however diversified and is now based on several industries including technology, energy, aviation, finance and telecommunication. The Tulsa Port of Cantoon located at the head of the McCellan-Kerr Arkansas River is the most inland port on the US that has access to international waterways. The city is served by two institutes of higher education the University of Tulsa and the Oral Roberts University.

In 2005, the city was dubbed 'America's Most Livable Large Cities'. It has one of the largest collections of Art Deco architecture of the US. The people who live in Tulsa are called 'Tulsans'. Sister cities for Tulsa include Celle (Germany), Tiberias (Israel), Amiens (France) and San Luis Potosi (Mexico).
