Vaughan is a city in the York Region which is located in the north of Toronto, Canada. Vaughan is considered one of the rapidly growing municipalities of Canada with its population nearly double since 1991. Its slogan is the city above Toronto and it is a part of the Greater Toronto Area.
There are five communities that make up the city namely: Maple, Woodbridge, Thornhil, Kleinburg and Concord. The attractions of the city include the Baitul Islam Mosque which is the headquarters in Canada of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The Baitul Islam Mosque is also one of the largest mosques in Canada and is surrounded by Muslim resident communities.
Other attractions include the Boyd Conservation Area, Canada's Wonderland which is the country's largest amusement park, the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Vaughan Mills which is a huge mall in the Greater Toronto Area and the Thornhill Town center, Vaughan's pedestrian town center that is situated in Thornhill.
Its twin cities include Sora, Italy, Sanjo, Japan and Baguio, Philippines.
