Virginia Beach is a city located in Virginia and has the highest population in the state. The city takes pride in having a Guinness World record for the longest pleasure beach. It also shares the world record for the longest bridge-tunnel complex (Chesapeake Bay Bridge). The climate in the city is humid subtropical with hot, humid summers and cold winters; however, it rarely snows in this city.

Majority of the economy of Virginia Beach relies on tourism but the agribusiness contributes a significant portion to the economy, too. Also, the military - with several bases located here - has a significant input into the city's economy. A large portion of the jobs available in the city are those related to tourism and catering to conventions and meetings of the business sector. The retail industry is also a significant contributor to the economy.

Although there are several arts, music, scientific, and historical points of interest in Virginia Beach, the city does not have teams for professional sports. However, the city does have several golf courses and hosts the annual Rock n Roll Half Marathon, North American Sand Soccer Championships, and the East Coast Surfing Championships.
