West Hollywood is a city located in the West Side of the Los Angeles County in California. The city is home of the famous Sunset Strip where a rich nightlife and the history of rock music is found. The city is also home to the biggest gay night life district of Los Angeles and is known for its gay-friendly atmosphere.

The city is also known for its distinctive street design scheme. The street signs that are scattered all over West Hollywood has postmodern designs and feature a blue map of the city. Due to the huge gay population and existing gay-oriented businesses of the city, West Hollywood is also known as a gay village, apart from its common nickname, "WeHo".

The Alta Loma Road in West Hollywood houses the exclusive hotel, The Sunset Marquis. This hotel is famous for its 45-person Whisky bar and a recording studio that has been used by prominent musicians all over the years. In Melrose Avenue, between Doheny Drive and Fairfax Avenue, trend clothing boutiques, restaurants, antique stores and interior design shops abound where tourists may bump into one or more Hollywood stars who live around the area.
