West Palm Beach is a city in the Palm Beach County. It is known by its nicknames including 'Orchid City', WPB or simply 'West Palm'. Aside from being the most populous city in Palm Beach County, it is also the seat of the county governance. Incorporated as a city in 1894, the city has since grown and has become one of the most successful cities in the United States. It has an estimated population of 250,000 people.
Tourism is one of the country's sources of economic income. It is home to landmarks including the Raymond F Kravis Center for Performing Arts, the Harriet Himmel Theater, and the Norton Museum of Art. The city also hosts several annual festivals including the Sun Fest, the Palm Beach Show, and the Moonfest. The premier classic car auction show Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is held in the city during March of each year. Notable auction sales include the Howard Hughes 1963 Buick Roadmaster which sold for $1.6 million and the first Shelby G.T. 500E Convertible ever made, which sold for over $520,000.
The city is served by the Palm Beach International Airport, by the US 1, Interstate 95, State Road 80, Tri-Rail, Amtrak, Greyhound Lines, and by the Port of Palm Beach.
