Willemstad is a located in the Netherlands Antilles. Its inner city - with a beautiful harbor and a peculiar architecture - is a World Heritage Site. This has one of the largest ports in the Caribbean that handle oil traffic and cargo. An airport serves the place. There are a handful of well-known sports stars that come from the area.

On the harbor of the Caribbean island, Curaçao, the people of Netherlands established a settlement that is primarily involved in trading. Over the many centuries that passed, the town progressed and became a tourist haven. Architecture of the houses and infrastructures in the city are highly influenced by the Dutch merchants and traders. However, such were also influenced by the culture of Spain and Portugal.

Several casinos can be found in Willemstad. Visitors can also visit the Snoga Synagogue which is considered to be the oldest surviving synagogue all throughout the western hemisphere - it was built in 1692 and was reconstructed in 1732.
