Xcaret is located in Mexico's Mayan Riviera. It is an Eco Park and the area where it is today was once occupied by Maya from the pre-Columbian times. It served as a trading post for both navigation, and import and export trade. Xcaret is perhaps most known today for the privately owned 'Xcaret Eco Park' located there. It contains original structures from the Mayan period.

Attractions found in the Xcaret Eco Park include its general jungle landscape and the many different sights and activities available to both local and foreign tourists. A subterranean river runs through a village in Xcaret. There, people can swim and snorkel. Near the river's inlet are found all sorts of recreational activities including areas for more snorkeling as well as for water activities like Seat Trek, Snuba and swimming with dolphins. A coral reef aquarium is also found in Xcaret. The aquarium is located close to the Turtle's site and an area where tourists can watch manatees.
