About Yuma
Yuma is a city in and the center of administration of Yuma County, Arizona, United States and populated at around 77,515 in 2000. Yuma is the main city of the Yuma, Arizona Metropolitan Statistical Area, in which the Yuma County is also located where 85,000 winter visitors make this a winter destination.

Geographically, Yuma is in California to the west and with Mexico to the south and just west of Gila. First inhabitants were the Native American Tribes. It was the explorer Hernando de Alarcon and Melchior Diaz who discovered the natural crossing of the Colorado River making it a good place to settle. Yuma can also be the hottest cities in the United States.

Yuma's institutional institutions are the Yuma Union High School, Kofa High School, Cibola High School, Gila Ridge High School, Yuma Catholic High School and Calvary Baptist School, and San Luis High School. Desert Sun Stadium, a small league ballpark, is also found here.
